How our cards are made

Our cards are printed on recycled paper with vegetable based inks and carry our signature wrap-around imagery, where the artwork continues across the back of the card. Cards are blank inside with a cream envelope, packed in a clear sleeve. Boxed sets come in kraft paper boxes.

Everything is designed, packed and shipped from Nelson, British Columbia.

Who you are buying from

A card company run out of an 1891 miner's hotel

The Tremont Hotel opened in 1891 on our beloved Baker Street. Originally a miners' hotel, the west wing of the building has been home to Cartolina since 2014.

Sitting amongst a variety of Nelson's heritage buildings, Cartolina is a fine example of restored 1890s architecture. The brick, stacked cornices, fine masonry, pressed tin ceilings, and original wood floors all stand beautifully intact to this day.

We are at 652 Baker Street, Nelson, British Columbia. If you are passing through, the retail shop is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5:30pm, and Sunday 11am to 4pm.

Before your first order

What is the minimum order?

$250 CAD, charged in your own currency at checkout. Greeting cards are six per design and postcards twelve. Boxed cards have no minimum, so you can try a single box.

Do you ship to the United States?

Yes, and shipping is free to the US and Canada both, with no threshold above the order minimum. US buyers are charged in US dollars at checkout.

Who pays customs and duties?

Greeting cards shipped from Canada to the US should be exempt. If a duty is charged, the buyer pays it. Paperwork is completed so nothing is held at the border.
